Is the Sharp Aquos LC-40LE810UN 40 LCD HDTV Right For You?
How is the Sharp Aquos LC-40LE810UN 40 LCD HDTV like nature? Well, nature has billions of colors, and HDTV is about capturing that larger than life picture of nature and reality.
Since the dawn of color television, technology has been limited to Red, Green, and Blue (RGB) to create a picture. However, Sharp ups the ante in conventional television viewing by introducing “Yellow” into its display in the Sharp Aquos LC-40LE810UN, an inaugural model in Sharp’s new Quatron (for four) HDTVs.
Not only will consumers now get a clearer picture but also a more lifelike one with four colors bases (equals a trillion shades), including subtle tones and gradations. From ocean blues to golden rays of sunlight, this model renders pictures so true to life that you feel you can almost smell the salt air and feel the warmth of the afternoon.
The 1080p full high definition picture with the proprietary Quad Pixel Technology by Sharp is a massive evolution in engineering and design that marks the company’s top status in LCD and LCD technology.
The Sharp Aquos LC-40LE810UN also features the much-lauded X-Gen LCD panel and UltraBrililant LED for a whopping 4,000,000 to 1 contrast ratio. As a result, the picture is beyond comparison with competitive models in the market. It even has Netflix video-streaming capability built-in with the Aquos Advantage Live online support system and the Aquos NetTM service. A media player for music and photo playback also comes via a USB port.
This model (like most in Sharp’s Aquos line) is a great investment for all home entertainment aficionados. The LED technology certainly delivers a better picture. The addition of Yellow is a definite game changer when put side-by-side against conventional models. Therefore, to call it an “evolution” is appropriate.
However, Sharp needs to get it together with the sound equivalent. We were not too impressed with the built-in speakers. At least, with the sound, you have options and this problem can be easily remedied at a cost. However, this trade off is worth it considering you will not find this picture quality literally anywhere else.
Last but not least, a lack of wireless connectivity will make placement dependent on the Ethernet line’s location. This 40 LCD HDTV is built very sturdy and elegant in looks with a sleek glass base so anywhere you place it to get connectivity will work.
