The NEC 42XR3 flat panel monitor has the best PQ of any other in the 42" screen size. This plasma TV has a 16:9 aspect ratio. With the 3:2 pulldown for SD (standard television). This plasma's menus are very easily accessable, logical and easy to adjust. I especially like the ability to set them for low-contrast operation.

There's an amazing level of adjustment on this plasma. No noise problems here (like some of the Pioneers). Listen to your movie, not your equipment.

The NEC handles fast motion (usaually a flat panel problem) in a natural looking way. Colors are amazingly lifelike with flesh tones and perfect shading.

More importantly the colors that should be vibrant are vibrant. Colors that should be subdued are subdued. In other words the picture looks natural.

NOTE: "Half Life" is an approximate time for a flat panel monitor to reach half of it's original brightness. The flat panel monitor life is based on motion video as the input source and all display settings at factory default.

Therefore the 60,000 hour half-life for the NEC 42XR3 flat panel monitor translates to 20 years of plasma viewing at 8 hours a day!
