Our HDTV Buyer Guide Reveals What You Need To Know About The Samsung LN-T4671F

This HDTV Buyer Guide will tell you if the Samsung LNT4671F 46-Inch LCD TV is worth a look.

The LN-T4671F sports a sleek look. The panel is elegant with the glossy black feel. From the first sight of the TV you’ll realize that you are looking at a very wide high definition television. The top and the bottom edges of the panel are relatively smaller. The TV measures 48.1 X 29.6 X 12.6 inches and weighs about 72 pounds including the swivel stand.

One thing I don’t like about the screen is its shiny finish. Trust me you will love it when you see it in the showroom. That shiny look will mesmerize you but when you get it home you may experience unwanted reflections on this glossy screen if it’s put into a room with windows, lamps, etc.

These types of screens frequently give unwanted reflections that have a disturbing effect on your viewing experience. A screen with matte finish would have been better but then that’s my personal opinion.

The remote that comes with LN-T4671 is more or less similar to the standard Samsung remotes we are used to. For a high end HDTV like this I expected all the keys in the remote to be backlit. Instead only the volume, channel keys and device control keys have back lighting. Putting that aside the keys are well categorized and the location of the keys is intuitive.

Samsung’s marketing team is pushing this model on the basis of its 120 Hz refresh rate and the judder removal capability. These two combined features lend a smoothing effect that eliminates the blurring in fast motion. This is a typical problem with LCD TVs.

If you like setting up your own picture then there are plenty of adjustments options for you to toy with. For example, the movie mode allows full adjustments where you can play with the HDTV’s settings. There are five preset options for the color temperature. If you are used to making the right combination of red, green and blue then there is the full set of color temperature controls available to you.

Discerning HDTV buyers should be picky about a set’s connectivity. Fortunately Samsung’s LN-T4671F has got very nice connectivity options. There are 3 HDMI inputs all compatible HDMI 1.3. You will also find a pair of component video inputs, AV input with S video and composite video, 2 RF inputs for cable and antenna and VGA style RGB input for computers. The recessed bay has one head phone jack and an USB port.

There are a lot of pros associated with this model. The picture quality black level is good and as well as color accuracy performances. The judder removal capabilities solely based on 120 Hz refresh rate, are a little questionable. The screen uniformity is good.

If you’ve read through our HDTV buyer guide you’d see that it’s a decent HDTV typical of the Samsung quality we’ve come to expect. You will find extensive picture control options and comprehensive connectivity in the Samsung LNT4671F 46-Inch LCD TV.
