The Sony KLV26HG2 LCD TV’s displays very good picture quality. The flat panel delivers a crisp, finely detailed picture with excellent sound.  Its display resolution is 1280 x 768.

Thereal challenge for LCD TVs is rapid movements or scene changes in action flicks, sporting events or other fast paced entertainment. Sony uses a proprietary LSI panel driver that enables the LCD pixels to change faster. It must work because there’s very little picture drag with fast moving objects.

You get two good quality speakers attached to the TV. The KLV26HG2 uses virtual Dolby (with MTS Stereo) so the sound is impressive almost as if you were at the movies.  It also has an Audio Leveler feature which will reduce the volume of your TV if the broadcast audio suddenly becomes louder.

You'll find this feature useful for evening out sound volume during a transition from a program to a louder commercial. You can attach a computer to the TV and it'll be one of the best monitors you'll run across. Everyone should try using XP on a 26 inch screen.

It has 2 SCARTs, 1 Component, 1 SVideo/composite. The Sony Wega KLV-26HG2 has just a single component-video input which limits its connection options. There’s no HDMI input or "Adj Color Temp" feature to let you adjust the color balance on the TV. Front A/V inputs are located on its side.

It has sleep timer which proves to be useful and the viewing angle on the KLV26HG2 is 170 degrees.

A DVD source through the DVI input will provide a spectacular picture. The remote is intuitive but it lacks a backlight. This LCD TV is simple to setup. It doesn't use an external media box which many people prefer (to simplify wiring) but it does include a tabletop stand.

Like most Sony products the KLV26HG2 delivers great quality and design. It uses low power wattage making it Energy Star compliant. (It meets the standards for energy efficiency set by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)).
