In our Samsung LCD TV reviews the LN-S3251D ranks better than the 32 inch Sony LCD

(Reviewed 8/22/06))Our Samsung LCD TV reviews reveal that the stylish Samsung LN-S3251D (1366 x 768-pixels) has a very high image quality when displaying HDTV, standard-definition, and DVDs. It has a very bright screen and has excellent color quality. The LN-S3251D reproduces deep blacks and has accurate color.

This stylish 32-inch LCD TV is in a shiny-black cabinet, which swivels on its base with an integrated HDTV tuner. Samsung hid the speakers under the upper lip of the opening, contributing to an extremely clean overall look. The Samsung LN-S3251D measures 31.5 (W) x 23.7 (H) x 9.9 (D) inches and comes with a stand.

Notable Features: Ipod connection (with an optional interface), a graphic equalizer function to fine-tune your audio, picture-in-picture but no CableCard slot.

The Samsung LN-S3251D has a long, thin remote control which is an improvement over last year's controller (see our archived Samsung LCD TV reviews). The buttons aren't backlit but they have white lettering that offers differentiation between the keys. There’s also a button to freeze a live image and it can control four other devices.

Samsung worked with Microsoft engineers to create a special Game Mode that optimizes image quality, sound and response time for realistic video game play.

The Samsung LN-S3251D has an Auto volume leveler that keeps audio volume consistent during channel changing. It has a built in image scaler that handle inputs from a variety of digital and analog audio/video sources. The Samsung LN-S3251D has four aspect ratio modes with standard definition sources and two aspect ratio modes with HDTV sources.

Connections: 2 composite A/V and 2 S-Video (on the side panel), 1 component (Y/Pb/Pr), 2 HDMI (rare among 32 inch LCD TVs), 2 RF, 1 USB, 1 RS232, a VGA-style PC input that can take resolutions as high as 1,360x768, headphone audio output.

Conclusion: We recommend the Samsung LN-S3251D based on its excellent picture quality and mid-ling price point. The LN-S3251D faired better than its predecessor in our previous Samsung LCD TV reviews. It’s a bright LCD TV, has a high-quality screen and a sleek, black cabinet. This TV is an excellent addition to any home theater buff’s living room.

The Samsung LN-S3251D is an attractive model with swiveling base, graphic equalizer, decent connectivity and useful menu tooltips it is one of the best models we’ve seen in our Samsung LCD TV reviews.
